As a follow-up to my Best Holiday Gifts for Cyclists post (check it out if you haven’t already), the Stocking Stuffers for Cyclists post is inspired by my wife. One of my wife’s biggest pet peeves is that most stocking stuffer lists do not actually fit in a stocking.
So if you are a stocking family, this guide is for you. Here are Dads Riding Bikes favorite stocking stuffers that actually fit in a stocking for Christmas.
Note: Ordered from least expensive to most.
LMNT Hydration Mix
The Feed: LMNT Raspberry – $2.00
Hydration is an important aspect of cycling. Most hydration mixes are very sugary. While our bodies need sugar for endurance activities, I prefer getting mine via food, not drinks. LMNT is a great alternative. It has zero sugar and instead focuses entirely on the electrolyte side of things. It is great for salty sweaters and contains 1000 mg of sodium compared to most other drinks which contain 250-350 mg.
Neversecond Energy Gels
The Feed Purchase: Neversecond – $3.50
I enjoy using gels for my carbohydrate intake on the bike, especially for fast-paced group rides, long climbs when it is hard to chew something, or big days out when I need something quick to digest as I get a few hours in.
Most gels require you to drink water after digesting and only have one carbohydrate source.
Neversecond gels are formulated using a 2:1 maltodextrin-to-fructose carbohydrate blend, delivering 30g of fast-absorbing carbohydrate with an exceptionally low risk of gastrointestinal distress.
I like berry and fruit punch flavors.
Tire levers
Amazon Purchase: Pedro’s Tire Levers – $8.95
It’s important to always carry tire levers in case of a flat or worn-out tire. These durable levers get the job done.
Park Tool Multi-Tool
Park Tool Purchase: Multi-Tool – $16.95
Everyone needs a good multi-tool in their saddle bag to fix roadside repairs. Park Tool makes some of the highest-quality tools in the bike industry.
Don’t get stranded on the road; pick one up for Christmas.
Rapha Socks
Rapha Purchase: Pro Team Regular Socks – $25.00
A good pair of cycling socks can make a ride much more comfortable, plus they look good! Rapha makes high-quality cycling kits and their socks are no exception.
Cycling Coasters
Etsy Purchase: Coasters – $29.99 – set of 2
Give your cycling enthusiast a set of bike coasters to enjoy with their post-ride beer.
Cycling Cap
Rapha Purchase: Rapha Cycling Cap – $30.00
I am bald, and I always wear something under my helmet. During the cooler months, I prefer to wear a cycling cap. I really like the Rapha ones because they are simple in design, functional, and can absorb sweat while keeping my head warm.
Tubolito Inner Tubes
Amazon Purchase: Tubolito Road– $31.70
If you want to ride faster and care about weight, dropping wheel weight is one of the best ways to do that. When you pedal, you need to overcome resistance, and this resistance increases with heavier wheels. Tubolito inner tubes are a great way to drop weight if you are using standard butyl tubes.
Compared to standard butyl road bike tubes you’ll save almost 70 g of rotating weight per wheel.
If you have switched to tubeless tires, you still want to carry a spare in your saddle bag. I like to carry one of these as they take up very little space and are extremely light.
Saddlebag
Speedsleev Purchase: Speedsleev Saddlebag – $40.00
I mentioned the Speedsleev saddlebag in my Best Holiday Gifts for Cyclists, but it’s worth mentioning again, as it can fit in a stocking.
A saddlebag is a must for a cyclist, however, many are too large and cumbersome. Speedsleev is an excellent solution for fitting all your necessary tools neatly under your seat.
I am currently using the Speedsleev medium saddlebag, which comfortably fits my spare inner tube, C02 canister, tire levers, and C02 inflator.
Garmin Varia
Amazon Purchase: Garmin Varia RTL515 – $199.99
I mentioned the Garmin Varia in my Best Holiday Gifts for Cyclists, but it’s worth mentioning again as it can fit in a stocking.
Safety on the bike is one of the most important things for our loved ones. If you are riding on the road, it is critical to be seen, which is why you should at the very least ride with a rear light.
Modern technology has taken the rear light to the next level, and the Garmin Varia brings radar technology to your bike computer.
It provides an audible beep as a car is approaching and then shows how many cars are approaching and how fast they are going with a light indicator (red being fast!).
This is my wife and my favorite bike device, as it allows you to ride on the road with a piece of mind that no cars will sneak up on you.
This is compatible with any Bluetooth and ANT+ bike computers.
Stocking Wrap-Up
That’s it from Dad Riding Bikes. We hope you enjoyed our list of stocking stuffer ideas to get cyclists for Christmas. We tried to make them something we would want, in case our wife stumbled upon it!
Let us know in the comments if you ended up getting anything from the list and how it worked out for you.
